Weekend Getaway

While Calder stayed home for a fun weekend with Nonna and Zaidy, Dave and I enjoyed a weekend getaway to Northern New Hampshire where our friends Sarah and Jay were married on Saturday. It was a quick trip, but we really enjoyed the beautiful scenery and wonderfully fresh air!

We did the 2-mile Flume Gorge hike, which was really cool. Lots of waterfalls and beautiful sites.

One of the covered bridges that we saw on our trip.

We also took a tram ride to the top of a mountain, where we did another short hike to an observation tower with gorgeous mountain-top views! It was a bit cloudy, but still really nice.

On the way back down the mountain, the tour guide pointed out that you can see the face from the buffalo nickel on this mountain side. If you look at the rock like a clock, the nose is at 9:00 and the mouth just below at 8:00. The eye slit is just above and to the right of the nose. See it?

The beautiful Mt. Washington hotel, where the reception was held.

And, of course, the very lovely bride and groom!
