Discovering Grass

Calder had a great time playing outside and discovering this cool new green stuff!

Mr. Handsome

It was a beautiful day today! Calder really enjoyed playing outside while Mommy and Daddy did some yardwork.

Mr. Handsome!

A New Feline Friend

We went to story time at a local bookstore, where Calder got to meet The Cat in the Hat!

Eight Months Old

Who would've thought that turning 8 months old could be this much fun!?

Family Fun

Calder got to hang out with his cousins in Pittsburgh this weekend! Madison loved playing with him and teaching him how to play soccer!

And, here's cousin Julia sharing her chair with Calder.

Uh oh...we have a climber

He just learned to pull himself up, and here he is already trying to figure out how to climb the stairs. Time to put the gate up!

Lesson Learned...

Lesson for today:

Runny noses and cheerios don't mix!

While the dog's away...

...the baby will play!

While Lucky is on vacation in Pittsburgh, Calder decides to try to take advantage of all those cool toys inside his cage!

Calder's Easter Egg Hunt

So, the level of difficulty wasn't too high...but Calder had a great time finding his Easter eggs anyway! I put some coins inside, and they ended up being great new rattles!

Daddy's toolbox rocks!

Calder used Daddy's toolbox to pull himself up to a standing position for the first time! By the way, the reason the toolbox was in his room in the first place was because we were literally in the process of lowering his crib when he surprised us by reaching this milestone. We couldn't have timed it any better!!!

Feeding himself

I let Calder try his hand at feeding himself...and I think more food ended up on his face than in his mouth. But he had lots of fun!! And he went straight into the tub as soon as he was done eating.

A new discovery

Calder discovered that Mommy and Daddy's shoes make fantastic toys!! The big question is, which to play with first??

Something new

Here he is practicing his pincer grasp with chunks of avocado.
I think a few bites actually made it into his mouth! And, he liked it! But then again, at this point, there isn't much that he doesn't like!

Cute new sleeping position

This is Calder's new favorite way to sleep. He is soo adorable with that little bum up in the air!

Last views of the red rocks

Another family photo op.
We had so much fun with Betsy & Stan, who drove down from Las Vegas to see us.

Calder especially liked Stan's scruffy face!

First piggy-back ride!

Oink Oink!

Calder's giant game of chess

Boy, this pawn is heavy!

Pausing to chat with the knight.

Watch out -- I think he may soon be ready to challenge Uncle Sean to a game!

More red rocks in Sedona

Playtime with Mommy and Daddy

After spending all day in the car, when we finally made it back to Sedona it was time to stretch out, let loose and have some serious fun with Mommy and Daddy!
Already a talented dancer!

So, apparently he's really into sticking out his tongue!

Alas, it's the Grand Canyon!

Taking in the gorgeous views with Mommy.

Posing with Mommy

Family photo in the snow! Calder didn't mind at all -- he actually seemed to like it!

Posing with Daddy among the red rocks

This is one of my favorite photos. It was taken at a beautiful overlook in Oak Creek Canyon.

First Hike

All ready for his first hike in Sedona! We climbed up Bell Rock Path.

This is as close as we got!

New face

Getting ready for a dip in the pool and showing off his new favorite face. (He's not really sad...just faking it!)

Calder meets Grandma Bird

Our first order of business on our trip to AZ was for Calder to meet his Great-Grandma Bird! He had an exciting day of strolling around her neighborhood learning about these new things called palm trees and cactus and playing on Grandma's lap. He topped off the day with a nap on her floor!
