Bad Blogger

I've been a bad blogger this month. We've had a crazy (but fun!) month with visits from family and friends, Calder's 3rd birthday, and our trip to the beach! I'm guessing I have over 1000 pictures to sort through. Digital cameras are great...but I always end up taking lots of the 'same' picture and then wasting so much time deciding which one is better.

Lots of updates to come -- hopefully I'll get caught up before the end of September! Until then, here's a new 'title' picture to tide you over!

7 Months!

Our little girl is 7 months old today. I think she has changed and grown so much this past month. She's starting to demand a lot more attention and she's showing a few signs of separation anxiety -- crying if Mommy or Daddy leave the room. She's finally mastered the whole sitting thing, although she seems to be getting bored with staying in one spot. Lucky for me, she hasn't quite figured out how to move anywhere yet. From a sitting position or laying on her tummy, she'll bounce her legs up and down, up and down, hoping that will somehow propel her forward. It's so cute.

She hates food. Well, maybe 'hate' is a bit strong...since she will occasionally eat fruit and yogurt...but just try to put a vegetable in her mouth and you're asking for a fight. Peas? No. Green Beans? No Way. Avocado? Heck No! Carrots? Nope. Squash? Puh-lease. Sweet Potatoes? Well, maybe. Well, at least there's that. :) For as much as she hates food, you wouldn't believe everything she tries to put in her mouth. Anything she can get her hands on -- clothes, toys, paper, you name it! Just not food!

She adores Lucky and her big bro. Dave and I have so much fun watching them together, and we hope it just continues to get better. We are all so blessed to have this darling baby in our lives!

Catching Up: Nat'l Building Museum

Back in July, we met up with our friends from Growing Up Global (visiting from Canada!) at the National Building Museum. I didn't get many good pictures, but this pretty much sums up our attempted exit from the museum...a blur of 2-year old energy!!

Catching Up: Family Time!

About a month ago, Dave's Aunt Bonne, her partner Suzanne, and their daughter Bakura came to visit from San Francisco! We really enjoyed spending time with them and catching up, since we see them so rarely. Dave's cousins, who live nearby, also came over and a great time was had by all!

Jenny & Lee's Adoption Journey

One of my coworkers and her husband are hoping to adopt a baby through private adoption. This means they are searching on their own for a birth mother who has an unplanned pregnancy and wishes to make an adoption plan for her baby. This process relies heavily on word of mouth, so that's why I'm posting this here! Check out their blog (www.jennyandleeadopt.blogspot.com) and website (www.jennyandleeadopt.com) and feel free to pass the word along! Thanks!

Girly Stuff

I've been having lots of fun experimenting with all kinds of girly stuff with Tessa! Bows, headbands and barrettes -- so fun!
I think she looks like such a big girl in this picture. My baby is growing so fast!
