Calder's 7th Birthday

Calder had a super fun Chima (Lego) themed birthday pool party this year.  A pool party is definitely the way to go!  Super inexpensive, and no additional entertainment required.  Sign us up for next year!

Bakura's Visit

Once again we enjoyed a wonderful week with cousin Bakura this summer! She is amazing with the kids, and they all loved her. She was so helpful on our fun trips to the water park, pool, air and space museum, Calder's birthday party, etc. She even covered our babysitting needs for Calder for the week! We were all sad to say goodbye to her, but we wish her an awesome freshman year at college in Oregon!

"God Made" -- A video for Nonna

Recently, our church moved the 2-year olds out of the nursery and into a Sunday School class with the 3 year olds. I wasn't sure at all how Alyse would do, but it turns out she loves it!  I am amazed at how she is actually grasping a little of what they are teaching her.  This week's lesson was Genesis 1:25:  "God made animals of every kind and saw it was good."

As you can see from the video below, she definitely processed the first two words of the lesson!  I know Nonna will especially enjoy this video. :)

Jefferson

While my dad and Peggy were visiting, we also spent an afternoon at our favorite memorial - the Jefferson!  Love that place sooo much!  It's so beautiful and there is always such a nice, peaceful breeze.  The kids had fun running up and down the steps and taking in the city sights.

A Garden Visit

In early August, my Dad and Peggy came for a visit.  We took them to a local park with some beautiful gardens.  We'd been there only once before to have family pictures taken and I don't know why we don't go there more often!  It's absolutely gorgeous and the kids had so much fun with all of the wide open spaces for running, playing, and discovering!
