First 'Before and After' shots, Part 2: After

And, here are the 'after' shots! We are really happy with how it came out. We literally replaced everything in the bathroom except the window. This was not our original intention...but we've learned that things rarely go as planned when it comes to home repairs/updates!

Dave's first attempt at crown moulding was in this bathroom, of which he says he completely underestimated how difficult it would be. After a few erroneous cuts and much frustration -- it looks great!

First 'Before and After' shots, Part 1: Before

Many of you have been asking to see pictures of our new house... Well, we finally have one room completely finished -- the powder room on the first floor. So, Calder is letting me 'borrow' his blog to share some before and after shots of the bathroom.

Here are the 'oh so 70s' before shots...

A Sea of Balls

On Sunday, Calder and Sandhya topped off their fun-filled weekend with a visit to the soft playroom at a nearby rec center. They had a fantastic time crawling, climbing and jumping!
Calder absolutely loved it when I picked him up and tossed him backwards into the balls. We did it over and over and over and over...
Peekaboo, Sandhya!

Taking a quick break before he is off and running again!

First Sleepover

Once they awoke from their naps, it was time for their first sleepover!

But first, it was dinner time, where they stuffed themselves full of spinach nuggets, broccoli (for Sandhya) and cheese. Check out these two little chipmunks! Looks like they are saving up for winter! ;)

Oh, and clearly Calder has not yet learned that feet do not belong on the table. Especially someone else's table...

Next up: bath time! Who's got the better baby mohawk?
And finally, it's bedtime. No, they didn't sleep in the crib together. Sandhya graciously gave up her room for Calder and his mommy.

Calder took a special liking to Sandhya's little crib aquarium. Back at home the next day, he looked for it in his own crib at naptime!

Zzzzzz....

A day at the zoo sure is exhausting!!!

Elephants and shiny tea bags

Right outside the elephant house, there was a Sri Lankan exhibit where they were giving out free samples of tea in shiny little packages. Calder and Sandhya had great fun playing with them!

This isn't the best picture of the two of them, but I just love how the elephant is trumpeting in the background.

These next two pictures are two of my new favorite pictures of Calder and Sandhya together. I can't help but smile when looking at their shining eyes and bright, happy smiles.

A day at the zoo!

On the Saturday before Thanksgiving, Vandana and I bundled up the kids and took off for a day at the zoo. We were having a lot of painting done at our house, so we wanted to keep Calder away from the fumes, and Sean had a lot of work to do, so a trip to the zoo was the perfect day-long activity for us! It was a bit chilly, but really not too bad, and the zoo was practically empty!

Here's a brave Sandhya gently petting a donkey.

The zoo has a great soft play area for kids -- in the shape of a pizza! Here's Calder checking out the giant pepperoni!
Escaping their strollers for a nice stretch on a park bench.
