Good Times
My mom came in for a visit last weekend, and we just had a really great time. The weather was fabulous (if not a bit too hot), so we spent most of the weekend outside. We played with the kids in the backyard, spoiled our dinner by getting ice cream from the ice cream truck, and went to the butterfly exhibit at the Museum of Natural History. Once again, I took tons of pictures...so here are some of my favorites:

Calder-isms
Calder cracks us up on a daily basis with the things he says. A few quick excerpts from today:
Calder to Mommy: "You have a big head."
Mommy: "That's not a very nice thing to say."
Calder: "You have a big head, please."
Daddy to Calder: "Wow! I like your new shoes. I want to wear those shoes."
Calder: "When they get bigger."
Daddy: "When I get bigger?"
Calder: "No, when the shoes get bigger."
And after giving me a good night hug and kiss, he ran over to the fan, hugged and kissed it and said "Good Night, Wind. Have a great nap!"

Jokester
Recently, Dave has been trying to teach Calder a few jokes. Naturally, the first one he went for was "Why did the chicken cross the road?" Calder thinks it's super funny. So much so, that "Get to the other side!" has become the punch line for every single new joke he learns... :)
And thanks to "Go, Dog, Go", Calder has known for some time that green means "go" and red means "stop". However, lately he keeps saying "Green means stop! Red means go!" When we try to correct him, he adamently insists that we are wrong. So, the other day, we were once again going back and forth about the meaning of red and green, when Calder started giggling and said "I'm teasing you, Mommy."

Tutti Frutti
I am a total sucker for fruit-themed baby girl clothing. I just think they are the cutest things ever! Here's Tessa snoozing away in the comfort of the watermelon hat that Aunt Vandana gave her!
And here she is modeling her sweet little apple outfit that was given to her by my friend Hope. I'm so glad the weather is starting to warm up -- Tessa has many more watermelons, apples, cherries and strawberries to model for you!

More Easter!
We took a ridiculous amount of pictures this Easter...so I thought I'd try one of these montages instead of having to go through them all and decide which ones to post. Overall, we had a great weekend! On Saturday, we dyed eggs and attended an Easter egg hunt-themed birthday party. On Sunday, we opened Easter baskets, went to church and then went to Sean and Vandana's for dinner, where the kids had another Easter egg hunt! The one downfall? We learned the hard way that Calder has a very strong gag reflex and should not be persuaded to eat anything he doesn't want!

3 months old!
Little Miss T is 3 months old today! Time is really flying. She is the sweetest little thing and we all love her dearly! Dave and I were just talking about how we are so lucky to have ended up with two really good babies! Calder was a great baby, but I have to say, I think Tessa is a little bit easier. Maybe it's because we are so much more experienced at this parenthood thing...but honestly, she hardly ever cries. And when she does, the solution is pretty simple: she either wants to be nursed, changed, burped or held. She consistently sleeps 7-8 hours at night, and she is extremely tolerant of her big brother! Our only issue with her right now is that she refuses to take a bottle. I find this pretty hilarious since it took me about 7-8 weeks to work out the whole breastfeeding thing, so I never would have suspected that after 2 months of at least a few bottles a day, she won't take one at all! Luckily, we have about 2 more months to work that out before I'm scheduled to return to work!

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter from our two little bunnies!
Calder enjoyed the contents of his Easter basket (and Tessa's too)......including the grass. After he emptied everything out, he said "Thanks for the nest!"
Sweet little bunny...The Easter excitement was a bit too much for this little one. She crashed shortly after the festivities began!

Easter Bunny Visit
Given last year's traumatic experience, I didn't intend to take Calder to visit the Easter Bunny this year. But, we were at the mall one day after Gymboree, there was no line, and Calder seemed interested. So, we went for it...and he did great! Check out the size of that bunny!Tessa was fast asleep in her stroller, and we were hoping to make it home before she was ready for her next feeding, so we didn't dare try to take her out. Maybe next year!

Bumbo!
A boy and his dog
Calder loves Lucky, and Lucky loves walks. While exploring the trails behind our house this weekend, Calder insisted on taking his turn at holding Lucky's leash. He actually did a very good job!
These are really the first pictures that we've ever gotten of Calder and Lucky playing together. Malteses aren't known for being kid-friendly, and Lucky is generally no exception. We're just extremely "lucky" that he and Calder get along so well!!
